Light Blue was launched by Dolce & Gabbana in 2001. Olivier Cresp composed it with Sicily in mind: Sicilian lemon and bellflower, Granny Smith apple, bamboo, jasmine and rose, over a base of cedarwood, amber and musk. Its films shot in Capri, with David Gandy and, in 2025, Theo James, have made it one of the house’s great successes.
Chandler Burr, perfume critic for The New York Times, gave it the top rating of five stars in 2007, and in 2012 selected it among the twelve fragrances of his exhibition The Art of Scent 1889-2012.

In 2012, as head of the Department of Olfactory Art at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, he selected Light Blue among the twelve fragrances of the exhibition The Art of Scent 1889-2012, which traces the history of perfumery since 1889.
