L'Eau Kenzo pour Homme, a fresh fragrance signed by Olivier Cresp

Born in Grasse, Olivier Cresp's great-grandparents cultivated fields of flowers, while his grandparents and parents traded in them. Regarding his childhood, Olivier Cresp states it was wonderful. That is the environment in which he grew up. Had he been born elsewhere, he might not have taken up the same profession as today. Since 1992, Olivier Cresp has worked at Firmenich, and he has been a master perfumer since 2006. Particularly forward-thinking, Olivier Cresp works on several projects at once. Among others, he is behind Nina by Nina Ricci, Noa by Cacharel and Kokorico by Jean-Paul Gaultier.

The aromatic freshness of the fragrance L'Eau Kenzo pour Homme

L'Eau Kenzo pour Homme opens with tonic, sparkling notes of yuzu and limetta paired with the frosted freshness of mint. Originally from China, yuzu is now cultivated in Japan, in the Tohoku region. Its skin is thick and uneven in texture, and its color is yellow. Yuzu is considered the Japanese lemon, and it is particularly prized in Asian cuisine. In perfumery, yuzu essential oil is obtained by cold expression of the zest. Yuzu gives off lemony, tangy, sparkling tonalities. The heart of L'Eau Kenzo pour Homme aims for transparency and freshness through the presence of lotus and ozonic notes, heightened by a touch of pepper. The sacred lotus, also called the lotus of the Orient, is an aquatic plant. Its flower is the symbol of India. In religions such as Buddhism, the lotus is a divine symbol. In the language of flowers, the lotus represents purity and self-fulfillment. In perfumery, the scent of the fresh lotus flower can be reproduced using the headspace technique. It is also possible to obtain an absolute through alcohol extraction of the lotus concrete. Lotus gives off floral, aquatic, and very fresh tonalities. The base of L'Eau Kenzo pour Homme asserts itself with strength and vigor, combining cedar and white musks. In 2003, the bottle was changed to a wavelike silhouette resembling a stream. The thick glass triumphs through the color of the sky, the waves and tenderness.
