In naming his fragrance Classique, Jean-Paul Gaultier already knew that it would have little of the classic about it, apart from its retro powder-compact accords! For the beautiful young lady already knew what she wanted, and her flawless sensuality would never be matched, so well did she manage to reinvent herself over the years and the bottles.
Jacques Cavallier, the perfumer who brought Classique to life, also sees its femininity as so heightened and singular that it can only be deeply rooted in each one of us, in the image of all the perfumer's feminine creations.

Visiting the tropical paradise of La Belle by Jean-Paul Gaultier
For Quentin Bisch, his scented creation was born of a pastry-inspired idea! Indeed, it was while tasting the vanilla delights of a famous Parisian pastry shop, La Pâtisserie des Rêves, that the perfumer had the idea of slipping into La Belle this vanilla, at once powerfully exotic and delightfully creamy, evoking a sensual femininity as much as the tropical paradises in which we would love to spend our vacations.
While La Belle is meant to be a flanker of Classique, it has strayed quite far from its 1990s predecessor, unlike the duo Le Beau and Le Mâle. But no matter, it reveals the delights of an ultra-feminine woody fragrance, announcing with its wonderfully juicy pear scent the departure for an olfactory vacation, where the vanilla in the heart would be like the final destination of this journey elsewhere, on the other side of the world. Finally, the fiery yet gentle vetiver, appearing in a sillage that is both nervy and sensual, leaves us with the impression that La Belle will never need to search any further for other lost paradises…
