Initially specialized in skincare, it was in the year 2000 that the Annayake brand decided to move into perfumery. Nevertheless, it managed to preserve its traditional values, such as the use of premium natural raw materials combined with a skillful blend of boldness and innovation. Thus, Annayake regularly presents new fragrances and likes to work in pairs. In other words, each of its masculine juices appears alongside a feminine counterpart. This is notably the case with the very latest Kimitsu For Him. This men's fragrance is presented as a woody and spicy juice and comes with its oriental and floral counterpart for women.
Kimitsu For Him, the new woody inkwell from the house of Annayake
After proving itself in the world of cosmetics, the Annayake brand has for several years now been offering a new dimension by creating highly innovative fragrances. Thus, its ambition was to answer the concept of “global beauty”. To do so, Annayake thinks of both men and women. It thus presents scented duos, creating a juice for men and its counterpart for women. The year 2016 was no exception to the rule. Annayake presents the new Kimitsu. Focus on its masculine version.
Annayake's emblematic bottle revisited
Because you do not change a winning team, Annayake chose to reclaim its traditional bottle. Indeed, it follows the minimalist and sophisticated aesthetic characteristic of the house. It is a modern interpretation of a brush and an inkwell. Thus, it references the art of traditional calligraphy and Japanese identity. It was originally created by the talented designer Thierry de Baschmakoff. He was born in Grasse and likes to say that he is one of the rare people from Grasse to deal with what happens around perfume rather than inside it! Nevertheless, this did not prevent him from having an exemplary career. Indeed, he founded his design and bottle-making company in the 1980s. It is called Aesthete and is likely not unfamiliar to you. Indeed, it has worked for the greatest creative houses, such as Cartier, Balenciaga, Guerlain, Dior, Lanvin, Kenzo, and others. In total, Thierry de Baschmakoff has more than 6,000 references to his credit! This time, he presents a very streamlined bottle playing with two neutral colors: black and white. Only black horizontal lines contrast with the white of this bottle. They thus form a perfect circle within which we can glimpse the name of the new Kimitsu For Him.
The woody flavor of Kimitsu For Him
But then, if Kimitsu For Him is dazzling in elegance and visual harmony, what about its scent? It opens with a fairly accessible approach. It launches on a fresh, energizing blend of citrus. Nevertheless, the Annayake man does not lack character and displays his impertinence through the spicy, rising presence of black pepper. This accord, typical of woody fragrances, then gives way to more sun-kissed brightness. Neroli, an essential oil obtained by distillation of orange blossom, gives the whole a floral, rich, smooth and zesty scent here. It is accompanied by aromatic spices typical of masculine perfumery, such as thyme, lavender, sage and rosemary. Then, Kimitsu For Him develops toward an ingredient more rarely used in perfumery: yerba mate. This is a South American herb known for its invigorating properties and its gentle scent, somewhere between tea and hay. Here, it gives more body to this fragrance while blending in a touch of sensuality and liveliness. Finally, Kimitsu For Him ends with a more amber base containing cedar and vetiver.
