Her Intense

The Burberry Her feminine fragrance becomes more intense. Burberry is an English house that began its run in 1856, thanks to the overflowing ambition of young Thomas Burberry, then barely 21 years old. It was in Basingstoke, less than 100 km from London, that he decided to set up his first shop.

The notes that define Burberry Her Intense

For Burberry Her, released in 2018, as for all its other fragrances, the house of Burberry sought to showcase the Great Britain that gave rise to it in the eyes of the whole world. Burberry Her thus beautifully represents this lovely English woman, caught between tradition and modernity, between scents of old and contrasting originality. Still led by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, Burberry Her Intense will take us in 2019 even further toward this English sun, at once rare and blazing, lulling us into gentle gourmand sensuality.

When Burberry Her Intense offers beautiful British sensuality

The least one can say is that perfumer Francis Kurkdjian is well accustomed to creating Burberry fragrances. From My Burberry in 2014 to Mr Burberry in 2016, from My Burberry Black to My Burberry Blush, the perfumer has repeatedly composed for this English house so renowned for its iconic trench coats.

It must be said that this perfumer, who made a name for himself with his singular creation for Jean-Paul Gaultier's Le Mâle in 1995, has continually created for Burberry a world apart, between an England that seems to have stayed at tea time and a Great Britain at the cutting edge of the wildest stylistic trends. These same contrasts can be found in Burberry Her, with its modern gourmand character of red fruits paired with the sensuality of musks and ambroxan.

For Burberry Her Intense, Francis Kurkdjian chose to push the gourmand contrasts much further by magnifying the flowers and fruits of a vanilla we did not yet know, a surprising and captivating vanilla.

A powerful, gourmand breath of vanilla for Burberry Her Intense

As a Frenchman, how did you create the English note of Her? By capturing the energy, the carefree spirit, the sparse parks of the city, the style of women in the street... And what does London smell like then? English perfumery, marked by the barbershops of old. Francis Kurkdjian on the creation of Burberry Her.

For Burberry Her Intense, the perfumer once again sought to capture this famous English energy, this time wrapping it in an English cream, or French cream depending on where it is tasted, vanilla-like and gourmand, bringing back flowers and fruits in gentle sensuality.

Quite naturally, then, Burberry Her Intense opens on the red fruit cocktail that made the original opus so successful, though this time blackberry joins this crisp, sweet opening. At the heart, the rounded, powdery violet has disappeared, leaving only the beautiful, opulent, sun-kissed jasmine flower in this Burberry Her Intense. Finally, the depths of ambroxan, cashmeran, caramel and patchouli from Burberry Her have given way, in this intense concentration, to the sole presence of vanilla, which takes on, alongside the fruits, a gourmand dimension, then, alongside jasmine, an oriental and divinely blazing dimension.
