Eros Parfum is the parfum version of the Versace Eros line. Aromatic, it combines lemon, mandarin, elemi and black pepper at the top; its heart blends Pomarose, geranium, lavender and clary sage, and its base brings together benzoin, cashmeran, patchouli, vanilla and vetiver.
Citrus, elemi and black pepper
The top combines lemon and mandarin with litsea cubeba, elemi and black pepper. The citrus notes give the opening its brightness, which litsea cubeba and elemi resin extend; black pepper adds a spicy touch.
Pomarose and aromatic plants
The heart brings together Egyptian geranium, lavender and clary sage, three materials that form an aromatic accord. Pomarose, a note that is both rosy and apple-like, softens it with a fruity touch.
Resins, wood and vetiver
The base gathers benzoin, cashmeran, Indonesian patchouli, vanilla and Haitian vetiver. Benzoin and vanilla bring a resinous sweetness, cashmeran a woody, musky nuance, and patchouli and vetiver give the base its woody, earthy depth.
The house designates several materials as Orpur® quality: lemon, mandarin, black pepper, geranium, benzoin, patchouli and vetiver.
What the label declares
The label places coumarin, with its hay and tonka bean odor, right after limonene: paired with the linalool of lavender, it signs the fougère structure noted by Michael Edwards’s classification. Citral, abundant in litsea cubeba, extends the citrus notes, while geraniol and citronellol extend the geranium.
Cinnamal and eugenol, molecules from cinnamon and clove, and alpha-isomethyl ionone, an iris facet, do not appear among the notes. Unlike the Eros Eau de Toilette, the list declares no UV filter.
