Where to buy

Lock & Co. Hatters, founded in 1676 in St James's and presented as the oldest hatter in the world, celebrates its 350th anniversary in 2026. For the occasion, the house partners with Floris, a family perfumer established on Jermyn Street since 1730, and names their creation after the year it was founded.

1676 is composed by the perfumers of Floris with the teams at Lock & Co., with no individually credited nose. The fragrance is blended and poured by hand at the Floris perfumery at 89 Jermyn Street, exclusively for the hatter.

The raw materials tell the story of the place: sandalwood and iris evoke the velvets of the hatters, while chocolate, coffee and tobacco recall the trade of George Lock, who imported these goods in the seventeenth century within the walls of the future shop.
