The Collection des Essences by Elie Saab

After making a name for himself in the world of Haute Couture, Elie Saab wanted to explore other horizons. Very drawn to adornments of every kind, he did not hesitate, first of all, to enhance his gowns with delicate jewels, sometimes urban, wild, metropolitan and authentic. Then, he decided to turn toward olfactory creations. This is how Elie Saab put together his Collection des Essences, starting in 2014. Drawing on the unique craftsmanship of his fashion house, he decided to layer raw materials and pay tribute to the subtlety of the finest ingredients in perfumery. The Collection des Essences thus offers ten prestigious formulas, showcasing flowers as well as amber, woody notes or spices. Each of these fragrances exudes nobility, expressing an aesthetic that combines opulence with a pared-down style. The Collection des Essences by Elie Saab immerses us in an exceptional world, full of nobility and refinement.

The new Amande Tonka

Amande Tonka is a tender, enveloping fragrance, showcasing several iconic ingredients of perfumery. Moreover, this juice highlights three major ingredients. As its name suggests, it places almond at the heart of its composition. In reality, this scent is entirely reconstructed synthetically. Indeed, it is not possible to extract essential oil from almond. It is reconstructed from coumarin, heliotropin and benzyl alcohol. The other main ingredient of this fragrance is tonka bean. It is obtained by extraction from the seed of a South American tree. Here again, coumarin makes up this element and delivers its powdery, almond-like flavor. Finally, Amande Tonka by Elie Saab enhances its scent with sandalwood. A precious ingredient, it recalls the smell of incense in Hindu temples. It seems to deliver the celestial aura of a juice 4,000 years old. As always, Amande Tonka comes to us in the emblematic bottle of the Collection des Essences by Elie Saab. It draws inspiration from the clean, precise drape of Elie Saab’s Haute Couture gowns. Its silhouette is pared-down yet structured. For added refinement, Amande Tonka is presented in a particularly heavy glass. It plays with light and reveals the color of this juice through its transparency. This time, it is a matter of purple. The whole is simply set off by a black label rimmed with gold. Perfectly matched to its cap, this is a nod to the black that is characteristic of the designer. More than ever, Amande Tonka is a fragrance perfectly anchored in the elegance and style of the Elie Saab house.
