Emblem, the signature of an authentic man Founded in 1906, in Germany, Montblanc quickly established itself in the field of luxury and elegance, notably thanks to its first pen, the Meisterstück, now famous worldwide. The house of Montblanc has always been associated with quality, craftsmanship, and perfection.
The house of Montblanc has not finished captivating with its unique pen lines of unmatched craftsmanship, nor with its perfumes that perfectly exude the charm of a man who writes his destiny with the nib of a Meisterstück. Emblem will engrave into the rock of its fresh, woody accords the inimitable signature of Montblanc perfumes, thanks to the talent and innovative ideas of its creator, Sonia Constant.
Emblem, the elegant and contrasting star by perfumer Sonia Constant for Mont-Blanc
Présence, Starwalker, or the most recent Legend, each describe Montblanc men through precious, elegant, and definitively addictive accords. Just as with its pens of eternal aura, the house of Montblanc chooses to compose perfumes with a rare signature thanks to the talent of the finest perfumers of the moment; nothing is too fine for Montblanc devotees.
By asking Sonia Constant to design a perfume to represent the famous star that has been the house’s emblem for nearly a century, Montblanc chose a creative perfumer inspired by multiple sources. Her travels across the world, as well as her childhood memories, are among the many riches that Sonia Constant delights in enclosing within bottles.
For Emblem, the great traveling perfumer set out to design a scented glacier through fresh, almost icy notes that represent the energy and the challenge every man tries to confront daily. To make this energy striking, she paired it with the virile warmth of deep woods and spices, which in turn symbolize the virility and sensuality of the man who signs his life, and his sillage, with Montblanc.
An aromatic-floral pulse of woody notes for an Emblem man, unique as a Mont-Blanc
The natural essence of pink grapefruit is sweet and volatile. My goal, however, was to go further. So I turned to a synthetic reconstruction of white grapefruit to accentuate its bitter potential, so that it would run through the composition and answer to the spices in the top notes and the vetiver in the base. Emblem thus plays on its contrasts to better surprise us, contrasts that could symbolize the passage between sleep and waking, between ice and fire, between dynamism and sensuality. The Emblem man is complex and rich; Sonia Constant has translated him into a perfume that plays with opposites.
Emblem opens with bitter, zesty notes of grapefruit punctuated by pink pepper, pepper, and the aromatic power of clary sage. A touch of cardamom nonetheless announces the arrival of warm spicy notes with a heart of cinnamon. These warm-cool contrasts are then powdered with a lovely retro and original touch of violet flower, which brings Emblem the hint of sophistication common to every Mont-Blanc man. Finally, the amber and sensual power of patchouli, ambroxan, and tonka bean tip the balance toward the warm, charming side of the decidedly surprising Emblem man.
