Azzaro launched Chrome in 1996 on a premise of transmission between a father and his son. Gérard Haury signed the formula, a fresh citrus set on a woody, musky base that has traveled the world. The lists of notes circulating under this name all contradict one another; some of them actually describe a 2015 flanker: only seven materials withstand cross-checking against two independent sources.
In 1996, the house of Azzaro created a masculine fragrance synonymous with freshness and sharing. Universal in appeal, Chrome has never stopped generating conversation since. Recognizable among a thousand, it remains an endless source of well-being and freshness. In terms of scent, it is defined by an aquatic accord paired with a few precious woods and highly invigorating citrus notes. Chrome is far more than a fragrance. It is an essence synonymous with sharing and transmission, paying tribute to the unique bond between Loris Azzaro, founder of the eponymous house, and his grandson Romain. While its scent and its message are not unrelated to its success, its bottle is just as celebrated. In fact, it remains timeless and has never been changed since its creation.
A square, streamlined bottle
Chrome by Azzaro has not aged a day since its creation in 1996. Indeed, its bottle remains fully current. Its secret? Relying on a highly streamlined, airy style. Chrome by Azzaro is adorned with nothing superfluous. Its bottle forms a neutral cube, whose transparent walls let one glimpse a blue-tinted juice. Its name and that of the house are inscribed in relief on its walls. Apart from these two distinctive elements, nothing disrupts the striking purity of this visual. Simple and reassuring, this bottle offers a perfect grip. Note that it also combines the rigor of the square with the softer side of curves. Indeed, its faces trace an oval when the bottle is viewed from the side. The whole rests on a solid base. Finally, the bottle of Chrome by Azzaro is topped with a silver-toned metal cap, finished with a chevron pattern similar to that found on a signet ring.
The blue color of the Chrome by Azzaro bottle
Chrome by Azzaro is also famous for its blue color. Yet this was far from chosen at random. Indeed, it evokes the horizon, the sky or the sea all on its own. These are three elements known the world over. Regardless of generation or culture, Chrome carries universal appeal. What is more, the blue also recalls that of the Mediterranean. Loris Azzaro has always been very proud of his Mediterranean origins. This is therefore once again an opportunity to highlight them. Finally, blue has long been associated with masculinity. From their earliest age, boys are closely linked to this color. It is thus quite naturally that it appears on the Azzaro bottle. Undoubtedly, every element comes together to make this visual an iconic bottle, timeless and enduring.
To satisfy every desire and every budget, the Chrome bottle comes in multiple sizes, ranging from a simple travel bottle to much larger eaux de toilette. It comes in spray bottles of 15, 30, 50, 100 or 200 ml.
