Bois Marocain

Bois Marocain is a composition by Tom Ford released in 2009. Pink pepper and black pepper, both spicy, open the top, while woody notes and cedar meet in the heart, and sandalwood and vetiver, both woody, join patchouli in the base.

Pink pepper, spicy and sweet, and black pepper, spicy and sharp, occupy the top; juniper, peppery and woody, accompanies them. Spice is what pink pepper and black pepper have in common.

Woody notes, evoking wood and sandalwood, sit alongside cedar, woody and close to pencil shavings, in the heart: the two materials meet on the register of wood.

Sandalwood, woody and velvety, and vetiver, woody and smoky, hold the base alongside patchouli, earthy and damp; sandalwood and vetiver share the woody facet.
