The B. Balenciaga fragrance returns as an Eau de Parfum Intense version
Balenciaga is a brand known today by all, one that has managed to propel itself to the forefront of the fashion scene under the impetus of Nicolas Ghesquière, who worked on its success from 1997 to 2012. Nevertheless, he gave way to Alexander Wang, an equally fascinating figure whose work has already earned him considerable praise in the fashion world. It was in 2014 that he created his very first fragrance for his own line named B. Balenciaga. It was a green and fresh floral simply named B. Balenciaga. Now, in 2016, it returns, this time in an Intense version.
The reinterpretation of the first B. Balenciaga opus
B. Balenciaga Intense is a juice rooted in the B. Balenciaga family, following on from the line's first fragrance, released in 2014. That one presented a green and woody accord based on green soy sap, lily of the valley, violet leaves, iris, ambrette and cedar. It was both bright and aromatic, featuring floral as well as woody tones. This fragrance was already reinterpreted in April 2015 in a smoother, softer version named B. Balenciaga Peau. This time, it is precisely the opposite direction of that first reinterpretation that has been taken. B. Balenciaga Intense proves to be more vibrant than ever, presenting a strong contrast of flavors. It is an intense woody essence that nonetheless manages to stay fresh, its fruity accents refreshing everyday life. Its opening is enhanced with notes of green tea paired with blueberry. Then, the heart of B. Balenciaga Intense bursts forth with the scent of queen of the night. This intriguing flower from a cactus blooms at night in summer and is known for its captivating scent, which even surpasses that of jasmine. B. Balenciaga Intense then ends with a more intense base releasing hints of cedar.
The captivating bottle of B. Balenciaga Intense
As for the bottle, the new B. Balenciaga Intense does not turn away from its origins either. It retains the shape of its predecessors while taking on an absolutely magnetic pink gradient. This sits atop a transparent base and is set on highly structured multifaceted glass. The whole progresses to a purple hue and is topped with an elegant hollowed-out cap that is reminiscent of the aesthetics of the cases of the Ulrich de Valrens fragrances. The composition is also accented by a very modern chrome metal structure. B. Balenciaga Intense is thus presented in a bottle resembling a sculpture. The name of the B. Balenciaga line, meanwhile, appears on a flat surface on its side, reading vertically and standing out in white against an opaque black background. The whole proves to be particularly modern without lacking in femininity. In every respect, B. Balenciaga Intense is a fragrance that exudes an extraordinary aura.
