Aventus

Woody by its main family, the composition also opens on citrus and fruity facets, carried by bergamot, lemon, apple and pineapple. Aventus was born in 2010 at Creed, in Eau de Parfum, under the pen of Jean-Christophe Herault. Its base brings together birch, musk, oakmoss, ambergris and patchouli.

Top

Bergamot opens the composition on a fruity, lightly sweet freshness. Lemon brings its sharp, tangy acidity. Blackcurrant gives a tart greenness, crossed with a sulfurous nuance, while apple offers a sweet fruitiness bordering on gourmand.

Heart

Pineapple steers the heart tier toward an exotic, juicy fruit. Jasmine adds a sweet warmth with a wild accent. Pepper brings dry spices with herbaceous glints, and pink pepper a spice touched with sweetness.

Base

Birch evokes leather and smoke, with warmth. Musk combines a woody accent, an animalic facet and warmth. Oakmoss brings an earthy, damp character, almost musty. Ambergris reads as woody, camphoraceous and animalic. Patchouli extends the accord with an earthy dampness tinged with camphor.

Family

The woody family generally groups compositions built around woods and dry or earthy materials; here, birch, oakmoss and patchouli carry it. The citrus facet, linked to citrus fruits, owes to bergamot and lemon; the fruity facet, to apple, pineapple and blackcurrant.

What the label declares

The label lists limonene, linalool, citral and citronellol. Limonene is a major constituent of citrus essences, and citral has a lemony odor, in keeping with the bergamot and lemon of the opening. Linalool, present in bergamot essence, has a floral odor; citronellol is associated with rosy notes.
