Privé Cuir Nu
Cuir Nu Eau de Parfum: Giorgio Armani's leathery tribute to Venetian tannery craft. To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Armani Privé, the house unveils Cuir Nu, a new addition to the Les Mille et Une Nuits collection. Created by perfumer Delphine Lebeau, the juice pairs the supple leather of Venetian workshops with a refined rose, twisted with arabica espresso and draped in a smoky amber — a dialogue between Italian heritage and oriental inspirations.

Composition: the olfactory pyramid
Top: cardamom & espresso
A fresh blue cardamom blends with a bold arabica espresso, a nod to the cafés of Piazza San Marco.
Heart: damascena rose & nappa leather accord
The heart reveals a honeyed Damask rose set within a velvety nappa leather accord inspired by Venetian tanneries — soft as a glove lining.
Base: smoky amber, labdanum & tonka bean
The base weaves a resinous amber with a balsamic labdanum, warmed by a toasted tonka bean for a long-lasting sillage (≈ 12 h).
Bottle: smoked ebony glass & pale gold cabochon
The Armani Privé brick in deep smoked glass, engraved brass plaque and gilded pebble cabochon — refillable system concealed beneath the pump.
The emblematic cubic bottle takes on an ebony gradient recalling oiled leather. The gold plaque displays the name Cuir Nu, while the pebble cabochon adopts an aged brass finish evoking the rivets of a hand-crafted saddle.
Advertising campaign
Shot by Paolo Roversi, the campaign shows dancer Eleonora Abbagnato gliding across leather laid out in a Venetian workshop; each step releases wisps of roasted coffee. Ambient-jazz soundtrack titled Naked Hide. Tagline: Dress your skin in Cuir Nu.
Review & verdict
Cuir Nu modernizes the leather theme of Cuir Noir (2011) by swapping oud for a luminous rose-coffee duo. On warm skin, the cardamom becomes spicy praline; in cooler climates, the leather reveals an elegant suede nuance. Solid projection for two hours, followed by a sensual halo — ideal with a chocolate suede jacket, a black wrap dress or a white mandarin-collar shirt.
