Azzaro, a house with a Sicilian soul

Loris Azzaro was born in February 1933 in Tunis. Born to Sicilian parents, he spent his childhood in Tunisia where he designed outfits for his mother at a very young age. Passionate about art in general, he studied at the faculty of arts in Toulouse and earned a degree in modern literature. Nevertheless, unable to stop dreaming of his clothes of old, he eventually settled in Paris in 1962 to create a women's couture collection as well as costume jewelry. Along the way, he designed beaded bags and all of his creations quickly achieved great success. This renown truly began when, in 1967, Loris Azzaro presented eight spectacular outfits at the Paris ready-to-wear show. He stated at the time that he wanted to make dresses that women put on and that men tear off them. One of these dresses made the cover of Elle with Cheryl Tiegs, and this is how Azzaro was thrust into the spotlight. However, it was not until 1975 that the house developed its first fragrance. It was in 1978, on the other hand, that consecration in this field arrived with the creation of a cult essence still particularly in vogue today: the iconic Azzaro pour Homme.

Azzaro pour Homme, the legend of the Azzaro house

Although many successes have since emerged within the Azzaro house, the very first men's juice from the house remains a reference in its own right. Yet Loris Azzaro, who had devoted his entire life to femininity, was not at first very enthusiastic about the idea of creating a men's fragrance. Allowing himself to be persuaded, he nonetheless crafted Azzaro pour Homme, a juice that would become one of the greatest perfumes in modern olfactory history. It is at once elegant and refined while remaining particularly virile. It displays a natural sensuality and an instinctive elegance. Thus, the man who wears Azzaro pour Homme reveals his most seductive and charismatic side. He becomes, quite simply, timeless. Although Loris Azzaro was first the inventor of ultra-femininity, he thus seems to have brilliantly succeeded in creating a weapon of seduction that has become indispensable to the men's grooming kit. Today, Azzaro is an iconic house in the world of beauty. Each of its fragrances is endowed with an incomparable aura, and the public always awaits the house's latest creations with deep anticipation.

On the women's side, Azzaro's most iconic fragrances are none other than Mademoiselle Azzaro, created in 2016, Azzaro Club Women from 2014, or Azzaro Duo Women from 2011. Among men's fragrances, on the other hand, the iconic Azzaro pour Homme still holds first place. It is also followed by Chrome from 1996 and Décibel from 2011. Similarly, Azzaro has more recently launched the new Azzaro Wanted, a perfume that seems well on its way to great success.
