Quentin Bisch

Like every creative art, perfumery stirs the imagination, beginning with that of its creator. Various influences shape perfumery into what it is today. Each perfumer's experience, childhood memories and the places they have passed through all contribute to the birth of their imagination. Quentin Bisch is one of those who takes pleasure in drawing from deep within himself to craft the finest scents.

Quentin Bisch's fascination with scents

Quentin Bisch was born in 1983, in Strasbourg. However, he moved to London when he was barely five years old. He stayed there for two years and, though very young at the time, he admits to keeping an intense memory of that British period of his life. He recalls it fondly and believes that it was there that he learned to appreciate his first scents. He remembers in particular freshly baked biscuits, the smell of warm tar near the playground he went to in summer, the fresh cucumbers served at lunchtime for school lunch, the smell of bark in Hyde Park… He also remembers his parents' fragrances: Shalimar, Poison, Loulou or Coco for his mother, Habit Rouge, Derby and Vetiver for his father. This is how he built up his experience of perfumery. Moreover, Quentin Bisch has always had an excellent olfactory memory. He is still able to say exactly which fragrance each of his teachers wore. In fact, it was to one of them that he proudly replied that he wanted to be a perfumer, when he was barely 11 years old.

Quentin Bisch's training

Quentin Bisch very quickly discovered that ISIPCA in Versailles was the best perfumery school. However, a background in chemistry was required for admission. Very gifted in art but particularly poor in science, Quentin Bisch quickly gave up on this path and turned to the performing arts. He earned a Master's degree in this field but was very soon disappointed with his destiny. He then wrote letters to the greatest perfume houses, notably to Jean Guichard, director of the Givaudan perfumery school. Guichard advised him to become an assistant perfumer, an opportunity later given to him by Michel Almairac within the Robertet laboratory in Grasse. This subsequently allowed him to be trained at Givaudan and to join this prestigious company with a view to working with the greatest luxury houses.

The path was a long one for Quentin Bisch before he reached the position of perfumer. However, believing more than anything in his dream, Quentin Bisch can now claim to have done everything possible to live out his passion. Moreover, a true artist at heart, he now counts numerous worldwide successes to his name. He has notably collaborated with Etat Libre d'Orange, Réminiscence and Ex Nihilo, but above all with Thierry Mugler. Furthermore, it is to him that we owe the latest Angel Muse.
