Honorine Blanc
Being a perfumer is a profession that requires numerous qualities. It calls for a strong dose of creativity combined with precise knowledge of chemistry. Finally, since very few people in the world have the opportunity to practice this profession, it also means enjoying travel and being willing to live abroad. Honorine Blanc is an exceptional woman who brings together all these qualities remarkably well. This is undoubtedly where her secret lies for creating so many now-famous perfumes.
Honorine Blanc's journey
Honorine Blanc was born in Lebanon but grew up in France. A studious student, she pursued a scientific track and rather easily earned a master's degree in chemistry and mathematics. However, having been passionate about scents since early childhood, she decided to enroll in the most prestigious international school in perfumery: ISIPCA in Versailles. There too, she graduated and set out to find work. To do so, she did not hesitate to move to New York, where she began working as an intern under perfumer Sophia Grosjman. She thus joined the prestigious International Flavors & Fragrances group, also known as IFF, a key figure in the perfume industry. Then, eager to make her own way, she decided to work with Firmenich, again within a New York subsidiary.
Honorine Blanc's greatest successes
These two collaborations allowed Honorine Blanc to work with the biggest houses on the planet. Honorine Blanc thus built up an already impressive résumé filled with numerous best-sellers. Furthermore, she contributed to the creation of Black Opium and Belle d'Opium by Yves Saint-Laurent. We also owe her Fame by Lady Gaga, Loverdose by Diesel, Scarlett or Amor Amor Tentation by Cacharel, Ralph Lauren Polo Explorer, and Amber Ylang Ylang by Estée Lauder.
Honorine Blanc is not a perfumer who limits herself to a single style. Although her creations are essentially feminine, Honorine Blanc is equally capable of designing sensual fragrances with a strong character as well as more romantic and light compositions.
