While the perfumery trend for several years leaned heavily toward certain major houses, regarded as true giants of luxury, the public seems to be gradually turning toward what are known as more niche brands. Authenticity is now the trend, and consumers want to smell different from everyone else. As a result, some perfumers have specialized in niche perfumery. Such is the case of Alexandra Monet.
Alexandra Monet's creative sensibility
Alexandra Monet is an enthusiastic and spontaneous young woman. She has made perfumery a true passion and draws on her sensibility day after day as a creative force. In this way, she manages to transform her emotions, experiences and memories into scents. She confides, in this regard, that she particularly loves gourmand notes and vibrant accords. This is precisely what can be found in each of her perfumes. More specifically, Alexandra Monet considers patchouli to be one of her favorite raw materials. She sees it as a vibrant and almost magical essence. She does not hesitate to use it generously to transport people with her into her world, halfway between the real and the imaginary.
Alexandra Monet's career path
Like many perfumers, Alexandra Monet discovered her calling at a very young age and shaped her studies with the goal of one day becoming a perfumer. She attended the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris before joining one of the most prestigious international perfumery schools: ISIPCA in Versailles. There, she completed a master's degree through a work-study program from 2002 to 2003 at Drom Fragrances. Based in Germany, it is a family-owned company founded in 1911, with roots more in the chemical industry than in traditional French perfumery. With its modern management culture and unconventional history, the company won Alexandra Monet over immediately. Recognizing herself in the company's values, she decided to stay on and still holds a position there today. Alexandra Monet began her career in Munich but returned to the French branch of Drom Fragrances in April 2008.
This collaboration allowed Alexandra Monet to express her sensibility through numerous creations. She has also worked for brands such as The Different Company, Lulu Castagnette, Jaguar, Evody, Koto Parfums and Anthropologie.
