Mugler Womanity

Womanity, the fragrance of feminine solidarity by Thierry Mugler arrived in Paris in 1969, when he was 24 years old. There, he created his first designer boutique, which he named Gudule. His very distinctive style quickly won people over. Described as a shock designer, Thierry Mugler enjoyed working with raw materials. Capable of constant innovation, Thierry Mugler took flight in perfumery in 1990, with the help of Clarins. His first composition, Angel, was a true revolution in the world of perfumery.

Womanity, the woman with a thousand faces by Mugler. Every new fragrance signed by Thierry Mugler is an event not to be missed under any circumstances! The perfume house, accustomed to novelty and olfactory feats, did not hesitate once again to surprise with its sweet-and-salty fragrance Womanity. Unclassifiable yet superb, ever-shifting yet unique, Womanity aims to embody a new universal femininity.

Olfastory’s review

The Womanity fragrance, or Mugler's “invisible bond between women”

The woman of Angel is gourmand, the woman of Alien is surprising, the woman of Womanity is every woman, every personality! Indeed, with Womanity, Mugler wished to create an olfactory portrait of every facet of the modern woman: gentle yet strong, intelligent and impertinent, seductive yet intimate. Thus Womanity pays tribute to all the women who have marked the life of the great artist Thierry Mugler, crafting for them a fragrance that would adapt to all their desires, to all their emotions.

His entourage [Thierry Mugler's entourage], his collaborators reflect back to him the image of multifaceted women, ever-changing, full of paradoxes. [...] Multiple facets, certainly, but the same connection, the same positive energy, the same spontaneity, the same humanity. A unique bond. That of an entire community: Womanity. Mugler on Womanity.

Naturally, the perfumer and designer, now having become a professional of image, set out to create a world tailor-made for this multifaceted woman. The advertising would be marked by the beauty of the Womanity women, each in turn revealing, according to their desires, their absolute femininity.

The touch of modernity brought by the iron masks is of course highly representative of the Mugler style. Masks that indeed cause much surprise, but which are meant as ingredients of a new freedom, absolute symbols of the independence of a woman in command of her body as well as her destiny.

An innovative sweet-and-salty fragrance: Womanity by Mugler

Womanity presents itself as a long carved glass tube where the metal cabochon takes shape like the peak of a totem devoted to femininity. A woman's face sculpted like a goddess in aged patinated metal, and a ring engraved with original symbols connected to the bottle by a chain, form an ensemble in which the baroque meets absolute modernity.

Womanity opens on a woody-citrus accord in which Hazelnut meets Lemon, blending within a most pleasant green note. At the heart, the Fig note and Fig leaves form a milky, juicy ensemble. This sweet accord is then tinted by the famous Caviar note, composed from Calone, bringing the salty side through its iodized scent. To enchant this sweet-and-salty woman, Womanity by Mugler offers depths of Patchouli and amber woods, punctuated by the designer's signature vanilla.

For me, femininity evokes completeness. The sweet-and-salty, necessarily. Thierry Mugler dreamed of pairing these two contradictory and complementary notes. A challenge. A reality, both unique and plural. Mugler on Womanity.
