Homme Marine

the image of a man facing the immensity of nature Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Marine is a creation that projects us to the first morning of the world, facing an as yet untouched nature. Before the splendor of the elements, man stands upright. He draws energy from contact with the surrounding landscape and lets his gaze wander to the horizon. Here, the setting is particularly aquatic.

Kenzo Homme first appeared in 1991. It seemed then to awaken to the first morning of the world, while the wind blew across the elements of a nature still intact. It offered us the landscape of a calm sea, its intense blue imbued with sun-kissed light. Once again, through a new fragrance, Kenzo evokes the full beauty of untouched nature. In 2021, exactly 30 years after the release of Kenzo Homme, Quentin Bisch reinterprets this cult fragrance and gives rise to Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense. A true concentrate of audacity, this men's fragrance reinvents one of the greatest legends in perfumery. Here is our review of it.

Bamboo as the guiding thread of the Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense fragrance

To imagine this fragrance, the house of Kenzo drew inspiration from bamboo. Indeed, it forms the guiding thread of this entire creation. The work built around this natural element is simply admirable, both in terms of scent and aesthetic design, in its bottle as well as in its advertising imagery. First of all, in its television campaign, Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense showcases Orin Hardy, founder of the Bamboo U project. Born in Bali, he is the creator of a responsible cause and shares his unique knowledge in construction, all while putting bamboo in the spotlight. Orin Hardy aims to explore another way of building, in order to live in harmony with nature. For perfect coherence, the advertising campaign for Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense is set to a track composed by Clément Bove, in which the sound of the Cool-Kul, an instrument made of bamboo, stands out. Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense also comes in a bamboo-shaped bottle. Its blue glass bends and stretches lengthwise. It has the flexibility and resilience of this plant, and would almost seem to yield to the shape of the wind. Designed with verticality, it echoes the strength and flexibility of man or of bamboo. Its cap, meanwhile, evokes a cut made by a katana, the sword of samurai.

The highly contrasted scent of Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense

On the scent side, Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense undeniably draws inspiration from its predecessor. Nevertheless, it has its own distinct personality and speaks to today's men, eager for discovery and more mindful of the environment. More specifically, Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense draws inspiration from the serenity of the sea breeze, while warming itself with a few spicy and woody notes. This composition offers us a highly sensual contrast between the freshness of the sea and masculine skin warmed by the sun. Sandalwood and Akigala wood ultimately create a soft and comfortable cocoon, while the whole is further enhanced by elegant earthy nuances of patchouli.
