In 2004, Kenneth Cole presented Reaction, an Eau de Toilette composed by perfumer Frank Voelkl. The accord opens on melon, watermelon, lemon and lime. Apple, patchouli and lily of the valley form the heart, while sandalwood and musk hold the base, in a citrus construction nuanced with an aromatic facet.
Fruity and tangy top
Melon brings a sweet fruit note with aquatic accents, and watermelon a fruity sweetness touched with tanginess. Lemon extends this brightness with its acidic freshness, while lime adds an acidic liveliness tinged with a slight bitterness.
Heart
Apple takes on a fruity, sweet and gourmand turn here. Patchouli introduces an earthy material, evoking the dampness of soil, with a camphoraceous touch. Lily of the valley, a white spring flower, brings greenness and freshness to this tier.
Woody and musky base
Sandalwood gives the base a woody, velvety and warm material. Musk, for its part, expresses itself here through a woody nuance, an animalic touch and an enveloping warmth that accompanies the final phase of the accord.
Citrus, aromatic touch
The citrus family owes its name to citrus fruits: the lemon and lime of the top note carry their tangy imprint. The aromatic facet finds an echo in the camphoraceous nuance of patchouli, which gives the heart a more herbaceous and lively relief.
