Ginger Biscuit is the cologne Christine Nagel composed in 2013 for Jo Malone London, in the limited Sugar & Spice collection inspired by British cakes. Ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon melt into caramel, with roasted hazelnuts, tonka bean and vanilla, like a just-baked biscuit.
Kafkaesque judges Ginger Biscuit harshly, the weakest of the Sugar & Spice collection in its view, while Makeupstash tastes a ginger shortbread in it.
What critics say
Kafkaesque, March 2013
Kafkaesque finds the ginger artificial, dominated by a rubbing-alcohol sharpness, closer to disinfectant mixed with vanilla than to real ginger, and judges the fragrance cheap and synthetic.
The weakest of the five Sugar & Spice scents in its view, it prefers a Bath & Body Works vanilla mist and is surprised at the 60-dollar price, suggesting instead a homemade stem ginger biscuit recipe.
