Bois Impérial

Quentin Bisch composed Bois Impérial for Essential Parfums, as an Eau de Parfum. The creation takes Akigalawood as its axis, the woody ingredient around which the accord is organized. Patchouli and basil also count among its components.

Bois Impérial Extrait, released in 2024, reprises the name of the first juice under a different concentration. For Bois Impérial, the sizes offered are 2, 10, 100 and 150 ml.

Heart

Grapefruit brings a fruity citrus freshness, heightened by a spicy, dry, almost herbaceous pepper. Basil delivers an anise-like freshness. On the woody side, Akigalawood® offers a peppery, patchouli-like facet, vetiver a smoky and earthy tint, patchouli an earthy, damp and camphorous register, and Ambrofix an ambery, musky warmth over a light wood.

A woody fougère

Belonging to the fougère family, the composition finds its footing in aromatic basil, vetiver and patchouli. This family classically combines an herbaceous tonality with a woody, earthy base, two registers carried here by these three notes, with the spicy dryness of pepper as a counterpoint.

What the label declares

Among the declared components, limonene, a molecule abundant in citrus zests, points back to the grapefruit. Linalool and eugenol, with its clove-like odor, are two well-known constituents of basil essence. Alpha-isomethyl ionone, for its part, evokes powdery facets of iris and violet.
