Victoria Frolova compares the eau de toilette to light glinting off the facet of a well-cut diamond. Green notes, from bitter basil to petitgrain, set off lemon and bergamot, which galbanum prolongs.
The hyacinth and jasmine of the heart, laced with earthy green notes, become almost filigree-like. She finds the eau de toilette austere and mysterious, as befits a chypre, and the 1993 eau de parfum sweeter and richer; to those who dislike sweet fruit mixed with flowers, she recommends the former.

Elena Vosnaki describes an eau de toilette of green citrus, almost a cologne, barely chypre, more cheerful and more unisex than the eau de parfum, which jasmine and ylang-ylang make more feminine and romantic.
