Where to buy

It would seem that Thierry Mugler's Eaux de Cologne come straight out of a fourteenth-century grimoire, while still possessing an undeniable dose of originality. Straddling genres and eras, the Mugler Cologne fragrances had until now numbered six. The creator has now decided to add two more references, namely Heal Your Mind and Blow It Up. So, how about discovering in more detail the tangy breath of Blow It Up, presented in a pink bottle that suggests its whole gourmand character?

Blow It Up, a sweet and contrasted fragrance

Blow It Up by Thierry Mugler, like all the fragrances in the Mugler Cologne collection, draws inspiration from the Eaux de Cologne of old. In that sense, it is a very refreshing composition, banking on lightness and liveliness. This is clearly felt in its heart. Here, Thierry Mugler chose to use a sorbet accord as the central element. To this are added first notes of blackcurrant, a complex fruit appreciated by perfumers for its many facets. The blackcurrant here comes across as tangy and sweet, while letting a more vegetal and bitter smell linger. In that sense, it evokes the sweetness of feminine fragrances, without tipping over into too much romanticism. It thus perfectly preserves its unisex side. Conversely, its base proves much darker and more powerful. Vetiver occupies a central place there. It comes to structure the whole fragrance and give it its strong character.

Thierry Mugler opts for a timeless bottle

As for the bottle, Blow It Up has a design identical to the whole Mugler Cologne collection. Thus, its belonging to this large family is clearly identifiable. No one could really pin down an era for its visual. This bottle seems to draw inspiration from an apothecary vial of old, while having a very clean and contemporary look. Its transparent glass lets us glimpse a pink-colored juice. That said, do not be mistaken, this fragrance is not exclusively reserved for women. Its spray cap, meanwhile, ventures into more modernity, with a chrome lacquer finish.

The tradition of the Eaux de Cologne of old

If Thierry Mugler decided to pay tribute to Eaux de Cologne, it is simply because they constitute the roots of our current perfumery. Moreover, we have all preserved in our collective memory a certain fondness for their freshness. This is precisely what resurfaces in the Mugler Cologne collection. This lineup was launched in 2001. Thierry Mugler then decided to enrich it with several variations such as Come Together, Take Me Out, Fly Away, Love You All, and Run Free. Just like these various fragrances, the new Blow It Up can be worn alone or paired with other references from the collection. It is up to you to craft your own personalized sillage.
