Bergamotto di Calabria is the eau de toilette Acqua di Parma added in 2010 to its Blu Mediterraneo line, in praise of Calabria and its golden bergamot, under protected designation of origin. Citron brightens the top, cedar and red ginger form the heart, vetiver, benzoin and musk the base.

The press release quoted by Now Smell This describes an opening full of energy: the green, sparkling notes of bergamot, heightened by the freshness of citron, also from Calabria.

The heart extends bergamot’s fruity, floral accord with cedar and red ginger, according to the press release; Osmoz notes floral and fruity facets, with light cedar and ginger.
Vetiver and benzoin
Vetiver, benzoin and musk make up the base, slightly woody according to Osmoz.
What the label declares
The list opens with alcohol, fragrance and water, with limonene, linalyl acetate and tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes, a synthetic molecule. Next come bergamot peel oil, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, a UV filter, lemon peel oil, linalool, pinene and bitter orange peel oil.
Two further UV filters, ethylhexyl salicylate and butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, protect the juice along with BHT. Also listed are citral, Atlas cedar oil, lemongrass oil, alpha-isomethyl ionone, geranyl acetate, terpineol, geraniol and citronellol.
