Parfum de Peau is a perfume by Aime, the French skincare and dietary supplement brand co-founded by Mathilde Lacombe. Created by Maïa Lernout, it combines almond, freesia, mock orange and white musks with a base of sandalwood, cedar, vetiver and ambroxan. Launched in 2020 as an oil, it also exists as a spray eau de parfum with an identical scent.
The almond
The top note rests entirely on almond. Actuel Beauté describes it as milky and discreet, far from bitter almond as from frangipane: a soft roundness, perceptible from the first seconds, rather than a gourmand note.
Freesia, mock orange and white musks
The heart brings together freesia, mock orange and white musks. Mock orange, a white-flowered shrub, appears under that name in the house's English version. For the house, the white musks bring a sense of calm and ease.
Actuel Beauté detects in this tier white flowers dominated by white musk, which gives the perfume its second-skin effect, clean and cottony, like fresh linen.
Sandalwood, cedar, vetiver and ambroxan
The base brings together sandalwood from India, cedar from the Himalayas and vetiver from Haiti, which the house presents as essential oils. It highlights the creamy notes of the sandalwood and credits ambroxan, a molecule it describes as renewable, with discreet amber accents.
Actuel Beauté finds the sandalwood very present. Ambroxan, a synthetic molecule evoking ambergris, seems to it to bring a mineral, almost salty facet to the base, which varies from person to person.
What the label declares
The eau de parfum's label is brief: alcohol, fragrance, water and three fragrant substances, linalool, coumarin and geraniol. European regulation requires these allergens to be named once they exceed a threshold.
Coumarin, with its scent of cut hay and tonka bean, does not appear among the announced notes, nor does geraniol, with its rose scent. The roll-on oil carries the same three substances in a base of oils, including jojoba, and vitamin E.
