Amandine Clerc-Marie
Amandine Clerc-Marie, the fragrance of a perfectionist at heart. The world of perfumery is very compartmentalized. It is a very closed circle that counts very few chosen ones worldwide. Moreover, the world of fragrance is also very masculine. Who knows why. Yet this is a craft that combines creativity and scientific knowledge; two qualities that are just as feminine as they are masculine. Fortunately, more and more women are nonetheless restoring the balance. Among them, Amandine Clerc-Marie holds a place of choice and continues to multiply her best-sellers.
Amandine Clerc-Marie, an innate talent combined with perseverance
Amandine Clerc-Marie seems to possess an innate talent for creating fragrances. A passionate woman, she has managed to make a name for herself in the very closed circle of perfumery. It must be said that Amandine Clerc-Marie is above all known for her perseverance. Through each of her creations, her ambition is nothing less than to come close to perfection. To create fragrances worthy of the name, she confides that she imagines a story or a character. She then works like a kind of portraitist, trying to bring out each personality trait in a precise olfactory note. Likewise, Amandine Clerc-Marie enjoys sharing and exchanging ideas. Among other things, she worked in close collaboration with Michel Almairac, a perfumer alongside whom she gained immense experience.
Amandine Clerc-Marie’s greatest olfactory compositions
Amandine Clerc-Marie’s greatest creation remains to this day the feminine fragrance Chloé, launched on October 6, 2007 in Paris. This best-seller has truly left its mark on the history of contemporary perfumery. She developed it alongside Michel Almairac, and together they opened the way to international success. To recount her creative process, Amandine Clerc-Marie confides that she imagined a refined girl, with a very feminine attitude, demure while being divinely sensual. She turned this into an essence based on Rose, a great classic of women’s perfumery, while still retaining a touch of mystery. It should also be noted that this creation was widely rewarded, since Chloé won the award for best feminine fragrance in contemporary high perfumery.
Likewise, more recently, Amandine Clerc-Marie has just signed La Nuit Trésor à la Folie for Lancôme. This time, sensuality seems more assertive than ever. It is almost as if Amandine Clerc-Marie herself had evolved through her creations, leaving behind the sometimes overly demure and shy girl of before in favor of a seductress freed from all constraint and eager to fully assert herself. No one yet knows whether this fragrance will achieve the same success as Chloé. That is all we can wish for it!
Beyond these two fragrances, Amandine Clerc-Marie has already worked for numerous prestigious houses such as Yves Saint-Laurent, Mugler, Marc Jacobs, Viktor & Rolf, Rochas, Sisley, Lancôme, and Kenzo.
