The story of Alberto Morillas

Alberto Morillas is a Spanish perfumer born in 1950 in Seville. Fascinated by art from his earliest childhood, he decided to study at the Beaux-Arts in Geneva. Nevertheless, reading an article about perfume, and more particularly about the house of Guerlain, struck a chord with him, and he ended up joining Firmenich in Geneva by chance. Entirely self-taught, he initially worked in the chemistry department and took the opportunity to study raw materials on his own. In this way, he gradually learned the craft of perfumer. Little by little, he developed certain projects and made a name for himself in the trade. To raise his career to the highest level, he decided, in 1975, to move to New York. There came the time of consecration. Six years later, Alberto Morillas won a project with the fragrance Must de Cartier. This was, in fact, the very first juice to truly mark his career. It signaled the beginning of his renown and allowed him to go on to achieve numerous other successes until he received, in 2003, the François Coty Award for best perfumer.

However, each of his compositions is very different from those that came before it, and it is very difficult to establish a consistent thread running through the creations of Alberto Morillas. Among the many fragrances signed by Alberto Morillas, some stand as veritable best-sellers, such as Miracle by Lancôme, Scarlett by Cacharel, M7 by Yves Saint-Laurent, CK One by Calvin Klein, Daisy by Marc Jacobs, and Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani. It should also be noted that Alberto Morillas expanded his field of activity starting in 2000, launching his Swiss scented candle brand, named Mizensir.
