Spirit of the Brave Intense

Spirit Of The Brave, the new Eau de Parfum Intense from Diesel Diesel is an atypical house, which does not hesitate to reinvent the world of luxury by revisiting the classic codes of fashion and bringing them a touch of modernity and boldness. And it is precisely in this way that its fragrances are also crafted.

Since its founding in 1978, Diesel has stopped at nothing to surprise us. The house does not hesitate to craft bold fashion pieces, just as it does highly contrasted fragrances. With Diesel, boldness always goes hand in hand with elegance, giving rise to creations that are always inimitable and unclassifiable. It is precisely in this line that the new Spirit Of The Brave Intense was conceived. So, is it as intense and vibrant as Diesel announces? Here is our take on the subject

Olfastory’s review

Spirit Of The Brave Intense, an apple scent that is both dark and sensual

First strong point for the fragrance Spirit Of The Brave Intense: its scent! Announced as a woody, oriental juice, this fragrance is in reality far more complex and nuanced than it appears. Spirit Of The Brave Intense resembles no other fragrance and dares a surprising, immediately recognizable signature. This fougère first launches on a refreshing, fruity accord. Here, apple is paired with a more tangy but not bitter bergamot. Then, woody notes appear at its heart. Cypress joins a wild accord, evoking along the way the Brazilian forest of Neymar's home country, the face of the campaign for the fragrance. Yes, at Diesel, everything is thought through down to the smallest detail! Then, Spirit Of The Brave Intense sets aside raw virility in favor of a more suave sensuality. Its sillage wraps itself in amber vanilla for an irresistible, addictive result.

Gold makes its way onto Diesel's bottle

As for the bottle, Spirit Of The Brave Intense's belonging to the Diesel family is obvious. Indeed, as always, the house wanted to present its fragrance in a bottle shaped like a clenched fist. The idea is by now nothing new, and we are already thoroughly used to this visual, surprising as it may be. As a reminder, this bottle is a nod to the Joe Louis sculpture in Detroit, representing the fist of the professional boxer, known for his impressive record. That said, while we are familiar with this visual, Spirit Of The Brave Intense surprises us with its new gold lacquer. For the very first time, one of the house's bottles is dressed in gold, for a particularly flashy and radiant effect. A lion's head is also drawn on its sides, in a dark, sharply defined black. Here, it is meant to echo one of Neymar's tattoos, an international football star known for his courage and determination. Once again, Diesel makes a point of displaying perfect coherence between its scent, its marketing campaign and its bottle. Spirit Of The Brave Intense leaves nothing to chance. Thus, the lion is chosen as an eloquent symbol of animality and power. It perfectly reflects the dark, feline side of Diesel men. The fragrance had to be bold, connected to what I love, explains Neymar. I wanted a fragrance that tells my own story and that shows what the word courage means to me. The challenge seems thoroughly met!
