Sintra

Memo Paris describes a round composition, both mellow and airy thanks to musks, with a floral and fruity sweetness, gourmand yet light. Its marshmallow note comes from orange blossom absolute, petitgrain and Madagascar vanilla absolute.

Orange blossom, vanilla, marshmallow

The house opens with bergamot essence, a red fruit accord and petitgrain essence. The heart brings together orange blossom absolute, cinnamon bark essence and rose absolute. The base combines Bourbon vanilla extract, a caramel accord and a musk with a marshmallow facet.

The notes are arranged here as follows: bergamot, red fruits and petitgrain in the top; orange blossom, cinnamon and rose in the heart; vanilla, caramel and musk in the base. Marshmallow is a facet of the musk, which the house counts among the three ingredients of its signature.

The 2020 list

When Sintra came out, the list the house circulated also named neroli, jasmine, a milky accord, resins and cedar. Today’s shorter list keeps orange blossom absolute, vanilla absolute and marshmallow musk as its signature.

What the label declares

Alcohol, which the house says comes from organic grain grown in France or Italy, opens the list, ahead of fragrance and water. Next come BHT, an antioxidant, and disodium EDTA, an agent that stabilizes the formula.

The rest of the list runs through the declared allergens: benzyl benzoate and benzyl salicylate, limonene, linalool, geraniol, hydroxycitronellal, citronellol, farnesol, cinnamal, a component of the scent of cinnamon, citral and benzyl alcohol.
