Mandarino Di Amalfi, created by Tom Ford in 2014, opens on blackcurrant, tarragon and basil, all marked by an anise-like freshness. The heart blends jasmine, coriander and orange blossom, before a woody and animalic base carried by amber, vetiver and musk.
Blackcurrant, green and sulfurous, tarragon, herbaceous and anise-like, and basil, fresh and anise-like, make up the top. Anise brings tarragon closer to basil, while blackcurrant stands out through its sulfurous bitterness.
Jasmine, warm and sweet, coriander, fresh and animalic, and orange blossom, waxy and powdery, share the heart. Sugar links jasmine to orange blossom, while coriander stands out through its spicy vivacity.
Amber, woody and animalic, vetiver, woody and smoky, and musk, woody and powdery, occupy the base. Wood runs through all three materials; amber is the only animalic one.
