Our review of the Libre perfume by Yves Saint Laurent. Over the past five years, the house of Yves Saint-Laurent had mostly devoted itself to reinterpreting its two latest iconic feminine perfumes. We were therefore eagerly awaiting the launch of a new feminine pillar, one that would open the way to a new olfactory collection. With the release of the Libre Eau de Parfum in August 2019, this is now done. So, is this long wait crowned by a perfume that lives up to our expectations? Libre, a very original and daring perfume
First of all, and since this is the main subject of the day, let us consider the perfume itself by Yves Saint-Laurent. It must be acknowledged that the house has staked a great deal on the creation of this new fragrance. Indeed, Libre by Yves Saint-Laurent is nothing like a classic feminine essence. It reclaims the fougère olfactory family, and more specifically the scent of lavender, usually reserved for men's perfumery. Yet, thanks to an infusion of orange blossom and a few notes of jasmine, the challenge is brilliantly met here. This fougère becomes more sensual and is lightened by a ray of light. Bold and rich with an odorous duality, this essence fits perfectly with the free spirit of today's women.
Yves Saint-Laurent creates a bottle of great beauty
On the design and aesthetic side, here too, Yves Saint-Laurent has taken a big gamble and taken great care with every detail of its bottle. Its glass bottle is both elegant and highly original. A large gilded accessory is set directly into the glass. This is the famous Cassandre of Yves Saint-Laurent, the iconic logo of the house. Like a jewel, it illuminates the whole visual. A gold chain also covers its lacquered black cap. Its asymmetrical cap gives the whole a very couture spirit. Furthermore, the contrast between black and transparency perfectly reflects the tension of the perfume between the masculine and the feminine.

Finally, the choice of ambassador by Yves Saint-Laurent was not made at random. Dua Lipa is a highly appreciated figure of the new generation, also very widely followed online.
