Ck1 Palace
Ck1 Palace, the new fragrance with aromatic notes, from Calvin Klein. It is by drawing on the legacy of CK One, a true icon of the 90s, that Calvin Klein had the idea of creating a new fragrance with an intergenerational and multicultural spirit. In 2022, Calvin Klein embarked on a new collaboration, partnering with the London skateboard and clothing brand Palace.

A collaboration between two iconic brands
The announcement was made in early 2022 and has already caused quite a stir: CK1 Palace is the result of a collaboration between American fashion icon Calvin Klein and the iconic London brand Palace. This unisex fragrance thus seems to possess within it the natural playfulness of Palace, as well as British reserve, along with the American Cool of Calvin Klein. I grew up in the early 90s admiring the iconic Calvin Klein campaigns for their simplicity and avant-garde representation of a fashion that appealed to everyone, says Lev Tanju, founder of Palace. It is by preserving this philosophy that CK1 Palace was created.
CK1 Palace by Calvin Klein, a fresh fragrance in a minimalist bottle
CK1 Palace by Calvin Klein first seduces with its very minimalist and timeless bottle. Resembling a Jamaican rum flask, it favors simplicity, which also makes it easy to hold. The CK1 Palace by Calvin Klein bottle is entirely tinted white and simply topped with a matte gray screw cap. On its ivory sides stand out the names of the two brands: the initials of Calvin Klein in black and the word Palace in gray.
In terms of scent, CK1 Palace by Calvin Klein is a citrus and aromatic juice that offers a more refined new interpretation of the iconic CK One by Calvin Klein. Frosted mandarin refreshes this fragrance's earthy signature, while combining with violet leaf and oakmoss.
The extraordinary advertising of CK1 Palace by Calvin Klein
To symbolize their union and the launch of the CK1 Palace fragrance, Palace and Calvin Klein pulled out all the stops in terms of communication. Numerous American and London personalities took part in promoting this new product, photographed by Alasdair McLellan. The duality of the two cities of London and New York is clearly highlighted, bringing together Palace team skaters Lucien Clarke and Charlie Birch, Hollywood actor Willem Dafoe, English actress Joan Collins, the London band Pet Shop Boys, British model Adwoa Aboah, top model Precious Lee, rapper Unknown T, and Madonna's daughter, Lourdes Leon.

The advertising
New York, London, a crossed narrative
Campaign by Alasdair McLellan between New York and London, with Willem Dafoe, Joan Collins, the Pet Shop Boys and the Palace Skate family.
Filming took place between New York, Calvin Klein's home city, and London, the birthplace of Palace, with identified locations: the East River, the Thames, Scarr's Pizza, Rules Restaurant. Calvin Klein entrusted the images and film to Alasdair McLellan, Palace's longtime photographer, with styling by Max Pearmain.
The cast brings together Willem Dafoe, Dame Joan Collins, the Pet Shop Boys, the Palace Skate family, Lola Leon, Adwoa Aboah, Precious Lee and rapper Unknown T. An expanded list also includes Lourdes Leon, Saskia Jesson, Elise Revett, Lucien Clarke, Kyle Wilson, Rory Milanes, Charlie Birch, Jahmir Brown, Savannah Keenan, Shawn Powers and Torey Goodall. Lev Tanju, founder of Palace, claims a reference to Calvin Klein campaigns from the early 1990s. The film is built as a crossed narrative between the two cities, with an irreverent tone, its characters meeting in unexpected ways.
The visuals were unveiled in early April 2022, a few days before going on sale. The restock of December 9, 2022 comes with a new film directed by Lev Tanju and Stuart Hammond.
