Cherry Smoke, released by Tom Ford in 2022, opens on spicy saffron and bitter cherry pit. Smoky leather, velvety apricot and honeyed osmanthus share the heart; earthy cypriol and smoky notes occupy the base.
Saffron, spicy and leathery, sits alongside cherry, marked by its pit: one leans toward the woody bitterness of the pit, the other toward spice and leather, two registers that cross in the top notes without merging.
Leather, smoky and dry, apricot, velvety and jammy, and osmanthus, honeyed and leathery, come together in the heart. The leather reappears in the osmanthus, while the apricot holds its fruity side alone.
Cypriol, woody and earthy, sits alongside the smoky notes, themselves woody and resinous: the woodiness appears on both sides, with cypriol remaining more earthy and the smoky notes more resinous.
