New York Nights

Coffee, rounded and syrupy with hints of chocolate, sets the tone for New York Nights, with a burnt sugar caramel tinged with vanilla and milk. Released by Bond No. 9 as an Eau de Parfum, the composition pairs this gourmand base with a floral heart of jasmine, gardenia and carnation, carried by patchouli, sandalwood and a marine note.

Floral opening

At the top, jasmine appears with its sweet warmth and its wild facet. Gardenia answers with a green and fruity facet, enhanced by a metallic nuance often associated with this white flower in its perfumed interpretations.

A rich heart

Jasmine, warm and sweet, meets gardenia's green and fruity character again. Carnation brings spice, clove and balsam; patchouli, an earthy, damp and camphoraceous material. Velvety sandalwood, smooth and creamy wood, syrupy coffee, burnt sugar caramel and an iodic marine note laden with seaweed complete the tier.

Gourmand base

The base retains coffee, rounded, almost syrupy, with hints of chocolate, and caramel, whose burnt sugar softens with vanilla and a milky touch. The roasting of coffee beans, which creates their toasted aromas, finds a counterpart in the caramelization of sugar.

Oriental

The oriental family brings together warm accords, amber, balsamic or vanilla-like. In New York Nights, this character comes through the vanilla of the caramel, the balsam of the carnation, the warmth of the sandalwood and the roundness of the coffee; patchouli, a classic material in these compositions, adds its earthy depth.

What the label declares

The label mentions eugenol, a molecule with a clove-like scent present in carnation, which echoes the spicy note of the heart. Hydroxycitronellal, a synthetic compound with a fresh floral scent reminiscent of lily of the valley, accompanies the white flowers. Denatured alcohol and water serve as a base.
