Guess launched Bella Vita in 2021 with Inter Parfums, which had postponed its release by a year. Christine Hassan and Valérie Garnuch-Mentzel, of the fragrance house Drom, composed the formula. The house classes it as a fruity floral: Italian lemon, blackcurrant and black cherry in the top, jasmine, tuberose and vanilla orchid in the heart, amber woods, tonka bean, praline and musk in the base.

The house describes a fruity floral that opens on bright notes of Italian lemon, blackcurrant and black cherries. The heart, a velvety bouquet of white flowers, brings together jasmine, tuberose and vanilla orchid; the house sees in it the sensual side of the Guess woman.

The base combines amber woods, tonka bean, praline and soft musks. The house describes a warm blend that leaves a sweet, unforgettable trail; the textured notes of tonka bean and praline are meant to create a feeling of comfort.

Descriptions that vary

Inter Parfums sums up the formula in a few notes: Italian bergamot and black cherry, jasmine and vanilla orchid, tonka bean and praline. Depending on the description, bergamot sometimes replaces lemon in the top, and the black cherry becomes a sour cherry.

The Guess website singles out three highlights: a sparkling black cherry, a hypnotic tuberose and the radiance of tonka bean. In its English texts, the house calls it a fruity floral oriental, or amber depending on the version; its French presentation sticks to fruity floral.

What stays out

The gourmand family often attributed to it comes from the praline and tonka bean; the house does not claim it and classes the fragrance among fruity florals. Vanilla orchid, cited in every list, is filed here under orchid.
