Ambre

Ambre a dream of the Orient signed Réminiscence. How to forget the soul of the house of Réminiscence, the famous Patchouli? How not to know the one that came into being the same year, 1970, alongside it, the fabulous Ambre?

The fragrance Ambre Réminiscence Patchouli, a single name and an entire story unfolds. This is of course the cult fragrance of the hippie years, released in 1970 by the then young house Réminiscence. The same year Zoé Coste, Nino Amadeo and Maurice Sozio would present Musc and Ambre, which would be steeped in the same exotic journeys as Patchouli, in different proportions and facets. So what is this dream of the Orient that the lovely amber likes to whisper to our noses?

Olfastory’s review

Ambre by Réminiscence, the scented dream of Zoé Coste and Maurice Sozio

The house of Réminiscence was born from the passion of Zoé Coste and Nino Amaddeo for distant lands, vivid colors and wonderfully faraway scents. Meeting the Grasse perfumer Maurice Sozio was olfactory love at first sight. From this exceptional encounter came the first three Réminiscence fragrances: the cult Patchouli but also Musc and Ambre. If Ambre is perhaps less famous than Patchouli, it is no less wonderful!

From the very first meeting between the founding couple of Réminiscence and Maurice Sozio, ideas flowed freely and creativity knew no limits. Thus the lovely Ambre would benefit from the same unprecedented, never-before-seen raw materials as Patchouli. However, the animalic facet is no longer part of the composition, allowing the green and woody facets of this amber to shine even more, ultimately making it an imaginary fragrance.

Indeed! Amber has no scent of its own! It is purely the product of perfumers' creativity, drawing on its warm, plant-like hues to bring out materials such as tonka bean, patchouli, benzoin or even incense. The very first fragrance to exhale amber was the famous Jicky by Aimé Guerlain, which shows just how long perfumers have loved this orange-hued stone with its thousand reflections.

Amber has bewitched for millennia, and evokes the legends and rites of the Thousand and One Nights. Parfums Reminiscence has captured its eternal and secret sensuality. Réminiscence for Ambre.

Oriental and spellbinding scents composing an Ambre imagined by Réminiscence

Amber is therefore a pure product born from the imagination of perfumers. Ambre by Réminiscence goes even further than its predecessors by imagining this stone as the union of delicate feminine flowers and burning, sensual woods. Ambre would be a fragrance like a spellbinding caress, infinitely feminine, elegant and seductive, according to Réminiscence.

In a rather original way, it is a lively, green and powerful note of geranium that opens the scented dance of Ambre. At the heart, this multifaceted scent meets the spicy, warm clove, offering the floral scent of geranium a bath of warmth that prepares it to meet the torrid depths of Ambre. Indeed, the base notes play on their skin-deep sensuality to offer an olfactory journey between woody notes of cedar, patchouli, guaiac wood and sandalwood, and powerful animalic notes of labdanum. A touch of vanilla wraps it all in a halo of sweet gourmand character…

Ambre blends spicy notes and floral notes, and warm, sensual accords give it an aura that is both sensual and refined. Réminiscence for Ambre.
