Fruity by family, A Thousand Wishes combines the tart brightness of star fruit and quince with tender florals like peony and freesia, lifted by accents of almond and amaretto. Launched in 2014 by Bath & Body Works as an Eau de Parfum, the composition rests on a base of sandalwood and musk, between velvety wood and warmth.
Top note
At the top, star fruit brings a fruity acidity and an impression of translucency. This tropical fruit, whose slices form a star shape, gives the opening a clean, clear brightness, carried by a tart freshness.
Heart notes
The heart tier brings together peony, tender and rosy with a touch of lily of the valley, freesia, luminous, with tones of jasmine and orange blossom, and jasmine, warm, sweet, wild. Quince stays sweet and tart; champagne evokes red fruit, citrus and honey. Almond turns powdery and soft, amaretto recalls bitter almond, vanilla and caramel.
Base notes
The base combines sandalwood, velvety and warm wood, and musk, with woody and animalic facets. In perfumery, sandalwood generally denotes a creamy, rounded wood, while musk is a soft, enveloping note that evokes the warmth of skin.
Fruity family
The fruity family generally includes compositions where fruits, fresh or candied, set the tone. In A Thousand Wishes, star fruit, quince and the red fruit and citrus accents of champagne carry it, while almond and amaretto add a gourmand facet.
