Watermelon, also called melon d eau, belongs to the cucurbitaceae family. Watermelon is without question the largest of fruits and weighs between 3 and 20 kg. From the month of June onward, watermelons kick off the summer season. Watermelon originates from Central Africa, where it grows in its pure state. Today, watermelon is found in warm countries, mainly in Spain, Morocco, Italy or Turkey. The cultivation of watermelon is very ancient, thought to date back to ancient Greece. Very low in calories, watermelon is composed of 90% water and is one of the most refreshing fruits.

Watermelon can be found in fruity, citrus, aromatic or even floral compositions, such as in Escada's Sunset Heat, where watermelon sits as a heart note alongside peach. Watermelon is also found in citrus compositions such as Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Noir, a fragrance for men where watermelon is positioned as a top note alongside basil. It is also found in Calvin Klein's Eternity for Men Summer 2007, an aromatic-aquatic composition, where watermelon sits as a top note alongside coriander.
