Utopia Vanilla Coco, by Kayali, opens on honeysuckle, coconut and lemon, blending tangy freshness with a milky gourmand character. Gardenia, tuberose and ambrette make up the heart, before sandalwood, musk and patchouli occupy the base.
Honeysuckle, jasmine-like and orangey, occupies the top alongside coconut, gourmand and sun-kissed, and lemon, fresh and tangy: the lemony freshness cuts through the sun-kissed sweetness of the coconut.
The heart brings together gardenia, green and fruity, tuberose, honeyed and waxy, and ambrette, amber and powdery. The floral register dominates, but the greenness of the gardenia contrasts with the waxy texture of the tuberose.
Sandalwood and musk share a woody facet that draws them together in the base, the former remaining velvety, the latter animalic. Patchouli, earthy and damp, accompanies them on a darker register.
