Among these, there are the famous traditional Kokeshi dolls. In recent years, these have made their way onto our shelves in the form of Kimmidoll dolls. Very popular, they come in a multitude of objects, starting with perfumes. Niki is therefore a fragrance from this collection.

The history of Kimmidoll dolls

Japanese Kokeshi statuettes are nowadays an essential souvenir to bring back from Japan. They are found in many stores there and are part of this country's ancestral culture. They originate from the Tohoku region, in the northeast of Japan. They were originally made by cabinetmaker craftsmen known for their bohemian life in the mountains of this region. It was in the heart of the Japanese forests that they found the wood to make their items. Kokeshi dolls were then given as a token of love or friendship and with the intention of protecting the person who received the gift. Long associated with this belief, they have now become more folkloric. There are actually two categories. The traditional Tohoku doll has a cylindrical body and a large round head. The other is a more creative version and originates from the city of Tokyo. There are then no restrictions regarding its design or color. Also, as they evolved, Kokeshi dolls have made their way onto our Western shelves, particularly those of perfumery. This is how Kimmidoll embarked on creating perfumes derived from this custom.

Who is Niki?

Niki alone embodies the idea one has of gourmand character and freshness. This little figurine is at once sweet, cheerful and dreamy. Its bottle is faithfully inspired by Kokeshi dolls. Lacquered in a mauve gradient, its body is dressed with a pad printing depicting a Japanese kimono. Its traditional voluminous head is also present. It is here topped with a sort of headpiece symbolizing its hair. This is designed in very light shades of purple. A small heart-shaped decoration then adorns the left side of its fringe. The whole offers a result full of sweetness and tenderness. On the scent side, Niki draws its freshness from the bitter, citrus presence of grapefruit. The fruity aspect of this perfume, meanwhile, comes from strawberry leaf and raspberry. Peony then adds more femininity, while the whole finishes on a sweeter base containing vanilla and musk. While this perfume is primarily designed for children, there is no doubt that it will also delight devoted collectors of all Kimmidoll objects.
