Instant Crush is an eau de parfum by Mancera released in 2019, which the house ranks among its orientals and describes as a gourmand amber. Citrus, saffron and ginger open it; Moroccan rose, Egyptian jasmine and amber form its heart, and sandalwood, oakmoss, vanilla and white musks make up the base.

Mancera builds Instant Crush in three tiers: citrus, saffron and ginger at the top; Moroccan rose, Egyptian jasmine and amber at the heart; sandalwood, oakmoss, vanilla and white musks at the base.

Citrus, saffron and ginger

Citrus opens the fragrance with a lively freshness, which ginger extends with its lemony warmth. Saffron, a spice drawn from the stigmas of a crocus, adds its leathery glints.

Rose, jasmine and amber

The heart brings together Moroccan rose, warm and honeyed, and Egyptian jasmine, sweet and slightly animalic. Amber, which the house calls precious, wraps them in a resinous warmth and leads the way to the base.

Sandalwood, moss and vanilla

Sandalwood lays down a creamy wood, which oakmoss darkens with its undergrowth tones. Vanilla and white musks give the base its gourmand softness.

What the label declares

The list opens with denatured alcohol, fragrance and water. Next come tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes, a synthetic molecule with dry wood tones, vanillin, which echoes the vanilla, and hexamethylindanopyran, a synthetic musk.

Benzyl salicylate, hydroxycitronellal, with lily-of-the-valley tones, limonene, coumarin, with hay tones, and linalyl acetate sit at the top of the list. Orange peel, patchouli, cinnamon bark and cananga oils also appear, with eugenol, cinnamal, camphor and anethole.
