Ginger Biscuit

In 2013, Jo Malone presented Ginger Biscuit, a gourmand Cologne composed by Christine Nagel. Nutmeg opens the accord, ginger, hazelnut, cinnamon and vanilla form its heart, while tonka bean and caramel bring toasted, almond-like and burnt sugar accents to the base.

Nutmeg opening

Nutmeg gives the composition its start. This spice, grated from the seed of the nutmeg tree, combines an impression of warmth with a touch of freshness, carried by a woody facet that recalls its plant origin.

A spicy heart

Four notes make up the heart tier. Ginger combines spices, warmth and a citrus brightness, while hazelnut offers greenness, wood and sweetness. Cinnamon evokes the bark from which it comes, woody and spicy; vanilla adds sugar, spices and warmth to it.

Caramelized base

Tonka bean, the seed of a South American tree rich in coumarin, brings toasted, almond-like and caramel nuances. Caramel extends this gourmand quality with its tones of burnt sugar, vanilla and a milky note.

Gourmand family

The gourmand character of the composition rests on caramel, vanilla and tonka bean, whose sweet and toasted tones recall pastry. Hazelnut adds a touch of dried fruit, and the spices, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg, warm the whole.
