The young men's fragrance Young Man by IKKS. While wearing a fragrance as a man or a woman is commonly rooted in custom, perfumery for children remains less conventional. Yet some houses dare to take up the challenge and attempt to move in that direction.
The house IKKS is a children's clothing label born in 1987 and originally entirely French. Positioned in a sector where fashion had, until then, little foothold, it quickly met with great success, which led it to expand into perfumery and adult collections. IKKS thus naturally offered children, the brand's first customers, fragrances intended solely for them, such as IKKS Little Girl or IKKS Young Man.

IKKS was one of the first labels to offer our children only trendy and colorful clothing lines, at a time when Jacadi was still suggesting pretty, demure dresses to them. It must be said that in the 1980s children finally began to have a say in matters of fashion, and IKKS was their very first answer.
As for fragrances, scents for children are hardly more developed than clothing. Of course there were already fragrances for babies such as Ptitsenbon by Jacadi, Baby Dior by Dior. But there was nothing to offer older children, still little but no longer babies. IKKS was therefore also a pioneer here, offering in 2006 Little Girl for young ladies and Young Man for young gentlemen.
It was Pierre Berdoues, the perfumer from Grasse, who created these two compositions for children in search of a real fragrance. Young Man was thus tailor-made to appeal to lively, masculine young boys who nonetheless remain very childlike! For according to Nathalie Gourbeyre, founder of the Lyon-based company Koto Parfums, children want gourmand character above all else.

With IKKS Little Girl as with IKKS Young Man, the aim was above all to offer children fragrances that resemble them, therefore ones that do not seek to copy fragrances for adults, but that also do not seek to be too childlike. A true perfumer's challenge that Pierre Berdoues met with flying colors with IKKS Young Man!
IKKS Young Man opens with a touch of basil, lending from the start an aromatic scent typical of men's perfumery for adults. However, blackcurrant and grape appear alongside this aromatic flight to bring a fruity, sweet softness to these men who are still little men. In the heart, IKKS Young Man plays on the same contrasts between childhood and adulthood by offering both a geranium-coriander accord typical of virile fragrances and a touch of childlike, powerful licorice. Finally, cedar brings a dynamic depth to this fine ensemble, while the white musks become softer and more enveloping than ever, wrapping our young men in the tenderness they still need!
