Nutmeg

Nutmeg is the fruit of the nutmeg tree and belongs to the myristicaceae family. Nutmeg originates from Indonesia, more specifically from the island of Banda. 2,000 years earlier, Indians would chew a nutmeg to have fresh, fragrant breath. In the Middle Ages, Arabs used to keep a nutmeg in their pocket. It protected them against illness. Nutmeg is a warm, dry spice. Its taste resembles pepper mixed with cinnamon.

Nutmeg, a scent between myth and mysticism

Here, nutmeg is found in the heart notes, accompanied by lily of the valley. In the top notes one discovers bergamot, rosewood, lemon as well as marine notes. Finally, in the base notes are cedar, pine, vetiver and white musk. The result offers a subtle contrast between fresh notes and slightly spicy, sensual notes.
