Francis Kurkdjian was born in 1969. It was at the age of 15 that he decided to become a perfumer. Yet, at that time, he knew absolutely nothing about this profession! Consequently, he had no idea what his destiny would be. Likewise, he had no idea at all which path to take to reach his goal. He nevertheless quickly understood that the road would be strewn with a heavy dose of demands and that perseverance would be essential. Fortunately, Francis Kurkdjian had the chance to acquire these values early on by learning piano and classical dance, two fields that require extreme rigor. A passionate and determined character, he gradually climbed the ranks. He first entered the prestigious ISIPCA perfumery school in Versailles. At the same time, he pursued a postgraduate degree at the Institut Supérieur du Marketing du Luxe. Upon finishing his studies, he had the chance to collaborate with Jean-Paul Gaultier. This first creation was none other than the iconic fragrance Le Mâle. As one might expect, this immediately propelled him into the spotlight. Since that day, Francis Kurkdjian has continued to achieve success after success. He was notably awarded the François Coty prize for his body of work in 2001. It was, moreover, that same year that he decided to open his own creative studio.

Although Francis Kurkdjian opened his own creative studio in 2001, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, as it is known today, was not born until 2009. It came about through a collaboration between Francis Kurkdjian and Marc Chaya. Together, they strive to give free rein to their expression, their generosity and their expertise. They also create bespoke fragrances. Thus, Francis Kurkdjian's ambition is to create an olfactory wardrobe whose every facet accompanies a part of ourselves. Each of his fragrances is crafted with extreme rigor and follows in the perfect tradition of French perfumery. Yet their authenticity is not without a contemporary vision, quite the contrary. Maison Francis Kurkdjian crafts fragrances with an extraordinary personality, one that allows Francis Kurkdjian to give voice to his sensual and delicate perfectionism. The workshops of Maison Francis Kurkdjian are today recognized for their exceptional mastery.
