As the proverb puts it so well: the apple does not fall far from the tree. Thus, if there is one professional field where this holds true, it is perfumery. This profession is born, most of the time, out of passion. Indeed, it requires tremendous discipline and a fairly substantial expertise to acquire. Yet perfumers seem to hold such love for their craft that they pass it down from generation to generation. The Sieuzac family has not escaped this tradition, and Lucas Sieuzac has become, just like his elders, a truly great perfumer.
Lucas Sieuzac, perfumery as a heritage
Lucas Sieuzac comes from a genuine dynasty of perfumers. Hailing from the south of France, he seemed unable to escape his destiny. Indeed, he was born in Grasse, the world capital of perfume since the sixteenth century. Moreover, he represents the third generation of his family to become a perfumer. Yet, contrary to all appearances, he did not decide to embark on this profession from his earliest childhood. In fact, the idea came to him at the age of 18. He states that it was at that age that he realized that the finest accomplishment in life was to create beauty using one's senses. I know it sounds like a cliché, but to me, a fragrance is truly an invitation to travel, he says. It is a way of sharing an emotion with thousands of different people. And each of them, while weaving their own personal memories into my fragrance, makes it unique a thousand times over. Such is his vision of perfumery. Lucas Sieuzac composes fragrances filled with sensitivity, and this is undoubtedly precisely where his extraordinary success lies.
Lucas Sieuzac's celebrated career
Lucas Sieuzac began his career by joining the company Florasynth in 1994, a flavor and fragrance production company specialized in the food industry and in perfumery. What is more, this did not require him to immediately leave his hometown, as Florasynth is based in the Grasse region. Then, in 1998, he joined the company Symrise, now named Créations Aromatiques. Like the previous one, this house specializes in the design, development and production of fragrances. Lucas Sieuzac then benefited from the renown of this major company and collaborated with important brands such as Burberry and Amouage. Then came recognition. In 2004, he won the Fashion Group International Rising Star's Award, the first acknowledgment of his creativity and outstanding expertise. From then on, he was offered prestigious contracts. He went on to compose Emporio Armani Night for Giorgio Armani, Azzaro Now for the eponymous house, Berlin for Playboy, Play for Givenchy, and The Game Intense for Davidoff. Now regarded as one of the finest perfumers of his generation, nothing seems able to stop Lucas Sieuzac. We are already curious to see what he has in store for us in the coming years…
