WoodyJean-Michel Duriez
A perfumer since 1986, Jean-Michel Duriez was in-house perfumer at Jean Patou, where he succeeded Jean Kerléo, and worked for Rochas before founding his own house, Jean-Michel Duriez Paris. At Rochas, he created Eau Sensuelle (2009), the first variation of Eau de Rochas, and Eau de Rochas Fraîche (2010). His first personal collection, Paris-sur-Seine, has seven perfumes.
Patou and Rochas
Jean-Michel Duriez became a perfumer in 1986. He was in-house perfumer at Jean Patou, where he succeeded Jean Kerléo, and worked with Rochas at a time when both houses belonged to the prestige division of Procter & Gamble, while remaining Patou's creator.
Eau Sensuelle, in 2009, was the first variation of Eau de Rochas, born in 1969; Eau de Rochas Fraîche, in 2010, combines lemon, bergamot, iris, white flowers, oakmoss and musk. He also created Muse de Rochas in 2011, two Cascades de Rochas, Éclat d'Agrumes in 2012 and Songe d'Iris in 2013, and Live for Lacoste in 2014.
His Own House
He founded his house and launched a first collection of seven perfumes, Paris-sur-Seine: L'Étoile et le Papillon, Seine Amoureuse, L'Illusiomagiste, Bleu Framboise, Mon Paris Secret, Bois Froissés and Double Fond, each devoted to a form of Parisian love. It entered the rare perfumes salon of Printemps as an exclusive, with a discovery set of seven miniatures.
For L'Étoile et le Papillon, his first perfume under his own name, he worked with Guillaume Auffret, known from Rochas, and opened a pop-up store in the Galerie Vivienne in Paris; the novelist Julie Gouazé wrote a poem for the collection.
