Far more than just a city, Grasse is a true breeding ground for perfumers. Indeed, it has been considered the world capital of perfume since the sixteenth century. It has thus seen the passage of the greatest creators of our time, as well as those of centuries past. And, like a good many of them, Henri Bergia comes from this place.
Henri Bergia's discreet career
While some perfumers like to speak at length about their work and personal background, this is not the case with Henri Bergia. He is one of those creators who lives in the shadow of his creations. Yet these are no less sumptuous for it. Of Henri Bergia's training, little is known, except that he attended the Collège Carnot, in Grasse, between 1959 and 1967. His renown, meanwhile, came much later, in the early 2000s. So, how about a tour of his greatest creations?
The perfumes created by Henri Bergia
The first two perfumes by Henri Bergia to achieve some renown appeared in 2000. Whether this was his way of entering the new millennium remains anyone's guess. Be that as it may, it propelled his reputation. These were Aura For Men by Jacomo and Cafe-Cafe Adventure by Cafe Parfums. Indeed, Henri Bergia went on to collaborate several more times with the latter house. In 2001, he also had the opportunity to work for the brands Salvador Dali and Ulric de Varens. Following this, he was recruited by Lulu Castagnette, in 2005, for whom he created the fragrance Lol ;-). A renowned perfumer, Henri Bergia enjoys exploring very different styles. He has thus contributed just as much to creations for Grès as for Nikkos Oskol Fragrance, Elite Parfums, or Pascal Morabito. In 2015, he even signed the creation of the perfume for Le Tour de France. Finally, his very latest creation is none other than Leather Sensation for Byblos.
